"The visual description of a three-dimensional world
on a flat plane is conjoined with the depiction of further, metaphysical dimensions."
I may be
trying to both describe the curve of the earth on a flat piece of paper
and using maps to blur the boundaries between the natural world and the
manufactured world, representing at the same time land, sky, water and
architecture.
The
assimilation of scientific/mathematical ideas is an elegant solution to
my quest to combine the spiritual or infinite dimension into my collage.

The World is Flat
Different types of perspective illustrate artificial and/or abstract attempts to represent the three-dimensional world. Counter claims to the belief that the world is flat historically led to persecution.. Today, the quest for this type of knowledge is diminished by the pervasiveness of technological entertainment represented here by flat-screen television monitors. The more we are entertained, the flatter the world becomes.
