2012 27″w, 21″ h collage
This collage is a tribute to Hurricane Sandy (October 2012), especially the moment when the storm surge entered the subway. The image of the water is semitransparent, printed on vellum and placed on top of the collaged subway tunnels. Foer comments, “As a young girl riding on the subway, when I first understood that the train was in a tunnel in the river, I imagined what it would be like if the water would begin to seep in.”
